2021 Country Championship Final

Graeme Glazebrook and Keiran Knight have been appointed to umpire this weekend’s McDonald’s NSW Country Championship Final in Goulburn as pool-winners Riverina and Newcastle contest the title.

The pair are both members of the Country Umpire Representative Panel, Glazebrook in his seventh season on the panel, with Knight enjoying his first season.

Hailing from Bathurst, in the Western Zone, it is the sixth-consecutive Country Championship final for Glazebrook.

He also umpired the Plan B Regional T20 Bash Final at the SCG earlier this month.
Glazebrook was last season’s recipient of the Kevin Pye Medal for a record-breaking fifth time – becoming the only person to win the award in five consecutive seasons.

Knight’s first season on the panel comes after deciding to umpire in the Newcastle District competition and stepping down from the NSW State Umpire Panel.

He brings with him considerable experience to the panel, having officiated six WNCL matches and four WBBL fixtures, in addition to 59 Premier Cricket First Grade matches.

He was also at the SCG on the Plan B Regional Bash Finals Day, umpiring the Sixers Conference Final.

Throughout the preliminary rounds of the Championship, Glazebrook umpired at the Southern Pool carnival – which was also held in Goulburn.

The following weekend, Knight was involved in the Northern Pool carnival, which was held on the Central Coast.

Country Umpire Coach Neil Findlay will be the Match Referee for the fixture, which begins at 10am on Sunday 21 February at Seiffert Oval, Goulburn.
