Polosak and Penman Appointed to WBBL|10
NSWCUSA members Troy Penman and Claire Polosak have been appointed by Cricket Australia to officiate this afternoon’s Women’s Big Bash League Final between the Melbourne Renegades and the Brisbane Heat at the MCG.
Polosak will be on-field, whilst Penman has been appointed TV Umpire for the match – it is the third consecutive WBBL Final for each in their respective roles.
For Polosak it will be the fifth time she has been in the middle of the WBBL Final, having previously umpired the final in 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
On Friday night, she was on-field in the Challenger match, which saw the Brisbane Heat defeat the Sydney Thunder to advance to the final – with today to be her 46th career WBBL match.
Polosak comes into the match off the back of her second Sheffield Shield match, where she was in the middle for the clash between New South Wales and Tasmania at the SCG.
Penman was also TV Umpire in The Challenger at Allan Border Field on Friday night, having officiated the Queensland v Victoria Sheffield Shield match at The Gabba earlier in the week.
The final will be his 20th match as TV Umpire in the competition, which includes the last two finals working as TV Umpire alongside Polosak.
State Umpiring Manager Darren Goodger praised the pair ahead of the match, “They are exceptional match officials at national level.
“We wish them and their match official colleagues all the very best for an enjoyable and successful experience in this national final.”
Polosak will be joined on-field by Drew Crozier, with the PCT completed by Daryl Brigham as Fourth Umpire, and Steve Davis as Match Referee. Local scorers Jan Howard and Wendy Moore will record the match.
The match commences at 1.20pm AEDT and can be watched live on the Seven Network, Foxtel and Kayo.
