Ben Treloar Selected for International Debuts

Cricket Australia have appointed NSWCUSA member Ben Treloar to make his international debuts as Australia host the West Indies in three-match T20I and ODI series.

Treloar has been selected as part of the officiating group across both formats and will make his on-field WT20I debut tonight at North Sydney Oval in the second match of the series.

He will make his WODI debut on in the opening match of the ODI series between the teams at Allan Border Field on 8 October.

NSW State Umpiring Manager, Darren Goodger praised Treloar ahead of his debuts, “These appointments are pleasing recognition for Ben’s consistent performances in recent seasons. He has displayed exemplary attitude, discipline, integrity, professionalism and teamwork.

“It takes a long time to become an overnight success; he has been patient, dedicated, and genuinely committed to excellence and self-improvement. We congratulate him on these appointments and wish him the very best.”

Treloar was elevated to CA’s National Umpire Panel last season and has now been in the middle for 61 senior domestic matches including two WNCL finals and a WBBL final.

Making his men’s first-class debut in 2021, he has now umpired 8 Sheffield Shield matches and 8 Men’s One-Day Cup fixtures.

He began his umpiring career in 2006 in NSW Men’s Premier Cricket, having now officiated 180 First Grade fixtures – including the last three Belvidere Cup finals.

Joining him in the middle for tonight’s second T20I will be Eloise Sheridan, with Phil Gillespie to be TV Umpire and Kent Hannam performing the duties of Match Referee.

He’ll be joined by three fellow NSWCUSA members, including Claire Polosak, who will be 4th Umpire, with scorers Darren Mattison and Ian Wright on duty.

For his ODI debut next week, his on-field partner will be Phil Gillespie, whilst Sheridan and Treloar will also be in the middle for the third and final ODI of the series at the CitiPower Center on 12 October.
