Cricket NSW Foundation Support of Regional Training Continues

NSWCUSA are pleased to announce that the Cricket NSW Foundation will again be supporting the training and development of regional umpires this winter.

The charitable arm of Cricket NSW, the Foundation exists to enhance people’s lives through cricket, by enabling greater access to the game and promoting social connection.

With the support of the Foundation, Laws of Cricket courses being facilitated in regional areas over the coming months will be subsidised in a bid to aid the recruitment of umpires across NSW.

Head of the Cricket NSW Foundation Jake Balnave endorsed the continuation of the partnership, “The Cricket NSW Foundation is delighted to be again supporting NSWCUSA in helping remove barriers for prospective umpires to continue their involvement in the game of cricket.

“Umpires play such a vital role in ensuring participants have a wonderful experience whilst playing and the more qualified umpires we have in regional NSW, the better the game will be.”

Executive Officer Troy Penman conveyed his appreciation, “NSWCUSA is grateful to the Foundation for its continuing support of this initiative.

“We’ve had many prospective members attend courses due to the subsidised cost and we look forward to this continuing.”

Perfect for anyone looking to stay involved in cricket, or experience the game from a different perspective, each course will provide the necessary knowledge to begin enjoying the best seat in the house.

NSWCUSA have confirmed that five courses will be facilitated by accredited trainers throughout July and August:

  • Maitland (22 & 23 July)
  • Tenterfield (22 & 23 July)
  • Central Coast (29 & 30 July)
  • Newcastle (5 & 6 August)
  • Wagga Wagga (12 & 13 August)

Thanks to the CNSW Foundation, attending the course and all included resources will only cost $15 for prospective umpires.

The courses will remain free of charge for any existing NSWCUSA members looking to attend.

NSWCUSA are also facilitating a number of courses in metropolitan Sydney, with more information available here.
