NSWCUSA Scorers Debut as India Tour Continues

The past weekend was a momentous one for New South Wales scoring as two scorers made significant debuts, making their next step on the scoring pathway.

Eastern Suburbs scorer Adrian Tham recorded his first international match whilst UTS North Sydney scorer Sarah Berman began her first first-class match.

Tham became the 42nd Australian to score a T20 international and Australia’s 196th known international scorer when he recorded last night’s Second T20I between Australia and India at the SCG.

Since the format was first played internationally in Australia, only eight NSWCUSA members have previously recorded T20Is – Tham becoming the ninth.

His international debut comes after making his first-class debut last season in the Sheffield Shield fixture between New South Wales and Western Australia at the SCG.

He also made his Men’s Big Bash League debut last summer, scoring the match between the Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat at Sydney Showgrounds.

Earlier this season, Tham scored 14 matches in WBBL|06 including a semi-final between the Sydney Thunder and the Brisbane Heat – taking his tally in the competition to 22.

Adrian’s partner for the T20I last night was Sydney’s Ian Wright.

Sarah Berman’s first-class debut comes in the Men’s Tour Match between Australia A and the touring Indians at Drummoyne Oval.

Her debut comes in her third season of being the First Grade scorer for UTS North Sydney.

Winning the Malcolm Gorham Scorers’ Award last summer, Berman also made her WBBL debut earlier this year.

The Melbourne Stars v Sydney Thunder match at North Sydney was the first of nine matches which she scored in WWBL|06.

Berman is in her third season as a member of the Association and became a Full Member at this year’s NSWCUSA AGM, paving the way for her representative career to begin.

Sarah’s partner for the in-progress three-day match is Northern District scorer Robyn Sanday.
