Penman Joins Indigenous Tour of Vanuatu

Whilst the cricket season is over for most of us in NSW, it continues into May for NSWCUSA member Troy Penman, who is on-duty touring with the Australian Indigenous teams in Vanuatu.

Penman is joined by Victorian Lisa McCabe, selected by Cricket Australia to accompany the Australian Indigenous men’s and women’s teams on a week-long tour of the South-Pacific Island.

Penman’s selection follows on from a busy season officiating in CA competitions, with matches in all men’s senior formats and competitions, including making his Sheffield Shield debut at the MCG.

He also performed strongly in Men’s Premier Cricket, being selected to umpire the Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup Final and the Second Grade Final.

McCabe is a member of the Cricket Victoria Umpire Panel and the International Panel of ICC Development Umpires, receiving the Ray Isherwood Representative Umpire of the Year Award at the Victorian CUSA Awards.

Each side will play four T20 games against the national side over the next week, with the action getting underway today in the island’s capital, Port Vila.

In addition to today’s matches, each side will play Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, with all matches available to stream on the Cricket Australia YouTube channel.
