Cullen & Egan Together for Country Final

Country Panel pair Dave Cullen and Jeff Egan have been appointed to oversee the McDonald’s Country Championships Final today in Newcastle.

For each of the pair it will be the first time they will be involved in Country Cricket’s pinnacle.

Taking place at Newcastle’s No. 1 Sportsground, the locals will host Central Coast zone as they look to secure their fourth consecutive title.

Hailing from the Riverina, Egan’s appointment comes in his first season as a member of the Country Umpire Representative Panel.

Taking to the field for the Southern Pool carnival of the Championships in Orange last month, he became cap number 56.

At that carnival he was in the middle for Central Coast’s opening round win over Western Zone at Wade Park in a day/night clash.

Officiating in the Greater Illawarra zone, Cullen has been a member of the Country Panel since 2016-17.

In his time officiating in Country Cricket representative programs, he has overseen seven underage finals, including the last Country Colts final prior to the competition format changing in 2018.

Cullen was involved at the Northern Pool carnival of the Championships in Tamworth in November, officiating three matches.

Each have officiated in fixtures during the pool stage of this season’s Plan B Regional Bash tournament.

Country Umpire Coach Neil Findlay will be the Match Referee for the fixture, with play getting underway at 10am.
