Hamilton and Moran Head to Hobart

NSWCUSA members Andrew Hamilton and Daniel Moran have been appointed by Cricket Australia to officiate the U18 Female National Championships which commenced in Hobart today.

The tournament will be Moran’s first appearance at a national underage carnival, having attended the National Indigenous Cricket Championships in February last year, held in Alice Springs.

At that carnival he was appointed to the Men’s Division Final between New South Wales and Queensland at Albrecht Oval.

Hailing from Newcastle, Daniel began umpiring regularly in Sydney mid-way through the 2018-19 season, making his First Grade debut in the Round 8 match between Fairfield-Liverpool and UNSW at Rosedale Oval.

Moran has now officiated in 16 NSW Men’s Premier Cricket matches, with 11 of those in First Grade.

Hamilton returned to the NSW State Umpire Panel ahead of the 2018-19 season and so far this season has officiated in five WBBL matches and one Second XI fixture.

Overall, Andrew has been on field for a total of 32 Women’s T20 fixtures and 12 WNCL fixtures, including a semi-final in 2012-13.

Since joining the Association in 1996, he has officiated 258 NSW Men’s Premier Cricket fixtures, 177 of which have been in First Grade.

Andrew officiated in Mackay last season at the U17 Male National Championships, following on from his appointment to the 2017-18 U15 Male National Championships on the Sunshine Coast.

He also attended the U19 Male National Championships held in Canberra in 2009-10.
