Claire Polosak Appointed to Women’s T20 World Cup

NSWCUSA member Claire Polosak has been appointed to officiate at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup taking place in Australia over the coming weeks.

The tournament will be her third appearance at the T20 World Cup; and her first time officiating an ICC tournament held in Australia.

Last year, Claire was involved in the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier event held in Scotland, where she officiated in seven matches – including the Final between Bangladesh and Thailand.

For the 2020 tournament, she will be on field in four preliminary round matches and acting as third umpire for another two.

Her first appointments are to the double header on Saturday at the WACA Ground – she will be on field in the West Indies v Thailand fixture before officiating as Third Umpire for the New Zealand v Sri Lanka match in the evening.

Claire will be on field as the West Indies play Pakistan in a Pool B clash at Manuka Oval in Canberra on 26 February.

Her final three matches in the preliminary round will be at the Sydney Showground.

She’ll be in the middle for the England v West Indies Pool B match on 1 March and then will be involved in both matches of the 3 March double-header.

She will be on field for the first match between Pakistan v Thailand before moving into the Third Umpire role for the evening match between West Indies and South Africa.

The matches will see Claire’s career tally of Women’s T20 Internationals move to 33 with an additional six as Third Umpire.

Claire has also been on field in 18 One Day Internationals, including 17 Women’s ODIs.
