NSWCUSA Pair to Oversee 2020-21 WNCL Final

NSWCUSA members Troy Penman and Claire Polosak have been appointed to officiate tomorrow’s WNCL Final between Victoria and Queensland at Melbourne’s CitiPower Centre.

Polosak will be on-field, partnered with Queensland-based David Taylor, whilst Penman has been appointed Third Umpire – the trio all being members of Cricket Australia’s Supplementary Umpire Panel.

Since making her debut in the format – also in a match between Victoria and Queensland – Polosak has umpired 23 Women’s List A matches, five of those coming in the WNCL match.

One of those was the 2016-17 Final between Queensland and New South Wales, played at the Gabba, which is also the most recent match she has officiated in the competition.

Earlier this season, Polosak was on-field for the WBBL Final at North Sydney Oval, together with Eloise Sheridan becoming the first female pairing to officiate a senior national final.

Whilst Penman has been on-field for three WNCL matches, including last year’s Final, it will be his first time as Third Umpire in the competition.

Penman was Third Umpire in last week’s One-Day Cup match between Tasmania and New South Wales at Blundstone Arena and has overseen seven WBBL matches from the Third Umpire’s seat in addition to last summer’s Governor General’s XI match against the touring Indians.

Bob Parry will be the Match Referee with local pairing Shelly Baulch and Natasha Noblett to score the fixture.
