Regional Bash Finals Festival

Today has seen a festival of Country Cricket played in Sydney with teams and umpires converging on the SCG and North Sydney Oval for the finals of the Regional Bash.

Conference Finals have been played throughout the day with the winners to play tonight under lights completing triple-headers at both grounds.

The Lake Mac Attack were the first team through at the SCG as they accounted for the Newcastle Blasters in the Sixers Conference in a match umpired by the Central Coast’s David Grainger and Newcastle’s Keiran Knight.

In the Thunder Conference, the ACT Aces triumphed over the Orana Outlaws – with Newcastle’s Ross McKim and Central North’s Phil Rainger the men in the middle.

This evening’s final is a repeat of last year’s affair with the ACT Aces and Lake Mac Attack facing-off with the same two umpires officiating – North Coast’s Bruce Baxter and Western Zone’s Graeme Glazebrook.

Across the harbour at North Sydney Oval, the Thunder Conference Final produced the same result with ACT beating Orana to secure the first spot in the Final in a match overseen by the Central Coast’s John Davidson and North Coast umpire Rob Pye.

The Coffs Coast Chargers won the Sixers Conference Final, too strong for the Northern Inland Bolters, with Riverina pair Dennis Chaplin and Pat Kerin in charge of the match.

North Coast pair Pat Holt and Graham Rose are the umpires for this evening’s final at North Sydney with the ACT Aces and the Coffs Coast Chargers contesting what is also a repeat of last year’s final.

Neil Findlay has been Match Referee for the SCG matches, whilst Graham Chudleigh acts as Match Referee at North Sydney Oval.
