Scorers Course to be held at Cricket NSW

A messy scorebook can cause all sorts of problems for a game of cricket, potentially leading to disagreements between teams and headaches for umpires and all involved.

On the other hand, a neatly organised scorebook can be one of the most aesthetically pleasing sights in a game of cricket, not to mention ensuring the match can run smoothly.

NSWCUSA is pleased to confirm that we will be facilitating a training course for scorers in September, prior to the commencement of the 2019-20 season.

Open to anyone, the course will provide the fundamentals required to accurately record the goings-on of a high-intensity cricket match.

The course will take place at 6:30pm on Monday September 16, 2019 at the Cricket NSW office located at 6 Herb Elliott Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW 2127.

If you have ever considered being involved in cricket as a scorer at any level, then this training course is for you!

Scoring for a club in NSW Premier Cricket can be a launching pad into scoring junior and senior representative cricket throughout New South Wales.

Christine Bennison, Toni Lorraine, Darren Mattison, Robyn Sanday, Kay Wilcoxon and Ian Wright are examples of NSWCUSA scorer members who have progressed through the ranks and are now scoring in representative competitions like the Sheffield Shield, One-Day Cup, BBL, WNCL and WBBL.

If you would like to register for this scorer training course, please contact NSWCUSA Administration Officer at bede.sajowitz@cricketnsw.com.au or on (02) 8302 6407.

The cost of the course is $20 which includes the Laws of Cricket and a set of course resources.

Without those keeping score, there is no game!
